Before our trips to Korea, my knowledge of Korean food was pretty much limited to  kimchi ,  bulgogi , and  japchae . My exposure to the cuisine never really went beyond that in spite of having several Korean friends, including a Korean roommate for a couple of years. I think part of it is due to how damn good Korean barbecue is. It’s so delicious that it was pretty much all I ever looked for when eating at Korean restaurants. Bulgogi for my main course, and a plate of japchae on the side. That was it. But thanks to our two trips to Seoul, in 2015 and 2017, my Korean food vocabulary has expanded to over 40 dishes. As delicious and universally appealing as Korean barbecue is, I’ve learned that there’s so much more to the cuisine than just bulgogi and  galbi . Incheon, Gateway to Korea: Where the sky and the sea are open to the world

A historic city surrounded by islands Incheon is the second largest port city in Korea. The Incheon Port is where Korea’s modernization began at the end of the 19th century, when it opened to foreign nations for the first time. Incheon is also home to the world’s top-ranked Incheon International Airport. As such, it is a gateway to the capital city of Seoul, and a major transportation gateway in Northeast Asia for destinations worldwide. Around the historic Incheon Port are China Town, Jayu Park, Wolmido Street of Culture, and the coastal wharf. Meet comic book, cartoon characters at SICAF 2014

Myeong-dong in central Seoul has been transformed into a world of exciting and funny comic book and cartoon characters from around the world. The 18th Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival (SICAF2014) kicked-off on July 22. The area around Myeong-dong and Namsan Mountain will be filled with a festive air during the six-day festival, which runs until July 27 under the theme of “Challenge, Courage and Hero.” As part of the festival, a total of 362 high-quality, artistic animated films from 43 countries will be screened during the festival. Comic strip and cartoon characters welcome visitors to SICAF 2014.
