  •When he first told his parents about his dream of becoming a singer, they weren‘t happy.  So he worked very hard to show them his passion for his dream.

  •He at first had more interest in becoming a entertainer rather than a singer.
  •He was an Ullzzang in Sungdonggu.
  •He is said to be quite stubborn and have a temper.
  •He is good friends with UKISS‘s Eli.
  •He was in Epik High‘s “Run” MV.
  •His stage name is from the character “L” in the manga/anime “Deathnote“. He sounds and use to look like him in his trainee days because of his long hair.
  •Known as “The Ice King“.
  •He says that if you don‘t know the answer to a multiple choice question, the answer is always the 3rd option (or C).

  •He is very photogenic.
  •He loves to perform girl group dances. In fact he was dancing them so much WOOLIM‘s CEO put a ban on them.
  •He thinks he is prettier than some girl group members.
  •He has a brother who is 3 years younger than him.
  •When INFINITE first debuted there was a controversy about his gender. He said it didn‘t bother him at all.
  •He has stated “I don’t dislike my feminine image, but I don’t really like it either.
  •The first thing he wants to do when he gets a girlfriend is eat kimbap that she made.

  •He has an older brother who is 2 years older than him, and a little brother who is 5 years younger.
  •If he was given his own solo stage, Hoya would hire a female dancer and do a sexy dance for 10 minutes.
  •He ripped his pants during INFINITE‘s first performance.
  •When he meets someone for the first time he feels like he will become closer to them if they call him his stage name “Hoya” instead of his birth name “Howon“.
  •He owns giraffe PJs.
  •Since Hoya is in charge of rapping, the company told him that he should get dreadlocks and wear a headband when they first debuted.

• Fun Facts:
  •He is known for his Choding, or childlike antics.
  •He begged the hairstylist t0 dye his hair in green f0r the “BTD” MV.
  •He is easily moved to tears, but when asked to cry on the spot like in MV‘s he can‘t.
  •Sungyeol has family members in the entertainment industry, but he doesn‘t want to rely on their help and see how far he can go by himself.
  •He is very emotional.
  •One of his most prized possessions is a letter from a fan that he keeps in his desk.
  • He loves to bully the other members and managers.
  • Before Sungyeol became a trainee, he went through a period of time where nothing went right for him. During that time, he went to 5 different taro card readers and they all said he would “create a big hit in 2010 and 2011” and also he would “slightly come in contact with money in 2010“.  At first it didn‘t make sense to him because he wasn‘t a trainee, but when he was taking test for a university he became a trainee for WOOLIM. In 2010 he debuted with INFINITE and in 2011 INFINITE got their first #1 award on M!Countdown.

  •He is easily brought to tears.
  •He learned how to dance from one of his sisters who use to be a dancer.

  •He is called the mother of INFINITE.
  •When he was dancing on “Infinity Girls” his pants ripped.
  •If he had someone he loved on Valentine‘s Day he would say “Thanks for meeting a guy like me. Instead of the chocolates that everyone else gives, take me.”
  •He is known as the “Gummed Angel” because of his smile.
